The AAL did not respond to emails. She spent significantly more time communicating with my ex than me. She communicated with opposing counsel both outside of court and during court (I saw her make eye contact with opposing counsel, point to her phone, opposing counsel picked up their phone and used that information against me. -Some information had been dismissed by the judge and the AAL attempted to use it against me during court after the judge said she couldn’t . —The AAL said I denied co-parenting classes for my child yet I have an email from my child’s counselor saying that they never made that recommendation . She did not give me a chance to defend myself against false allegations and said it wasn’t her job to voice concerns. Opposing counsel asked if she could testify on behalf of my ex. She made a recommendation at mediation for joint custody WITHOUT calling any of my witnesses, my child’s counselor or teacher. My child’s teacher sent a letter saying she wanted to speak with the AAL however she did not reach out. The AAL did not conduct a home evaluation or call my family.

Would not reply to emails but did respond to opposing party. It was very clear in court she was working with opposition. Did not ask any questions or do a home visit with defendant. Ignored recommendations by witnesses.

Bullied me on the stand making accusations that were false

A practicing attorney who also acts as an ad litem. Made the decision that it was the best interest of the children for their father to have full custody who had a DUI on his record had dropped off the children wirh open alcohol bottles and had parentally kidnapped the children across state lines and withheld all contact 5 months prior. They were unable to finish the school year with 2 weeks left. The father has since withheld all contact.
